Position Overview

Quality Protection Services (QPS) is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Fire Life Safety Director Supervisor for a corporate Class “A” office building. The Fire Life Safety Director Supervisor is responsible for monitoring fire and life safety systems, coordinating emergency responses, conducting required inspections and drills, and working closely with property management, security, and building engineering staff.

Successful candidates must be able to evaluate incidents, take appropriate action, communicate clearly during emergencies, and maintain professionalism while supporting overall building safety and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate fire alarm and elevator system panels
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for FDNY/NYPD and other first responders during fire, non-fire, medical emergencies, and elevator entrapments
  • Work closely with property management, security, and building engineering staff
  • Evaluate emergency and non-emergency incidents and take appropriate action
  • Make clear and articulate public-address announcements as required
  • Conduct facility safety inspections and required testing, including monthly fire extinguisher and elevator fire service testing
  • Plan and coordinate fire and non-fire drills in accordance with applicable code requirements
  • Maintain and update floor warden and brigade teams as needed
  • Assist with monitoring access control systems, including turnstiles, cameras, and loading dock operations
  • Screen visitors, guests, contractors, and delivery personnel and issue passes to authorized individuals
  • Prepare accurate incident reports and escalate serious issues to management according to established protocols
  • Assist with Security Officer coverage as required

Requirements

Required
  • Valid NYS Security Guard License
Preferred
  • Prior experience working in a corporate Class “A” office building
  • Experience coordinating emergency response with building management and first responders
  • Experience conducting fire and non-fire drills, inspections, and life safety system testing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during emergency situations

Pay Range

USD $28.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
