The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Eden II Programs to find qualified candidates for a Group Leader position in Staten Island, New York. The organization's mission is to support individuals with autism through service, science, and passion so they can achieve their full potential throughout their lives. Using evidence-based principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), Eden II Programs is nationally recognized for its work with individuals across the autism spectrum.  

Position Overview

The Group Leader supports the Adult Day Habilitation Program by coordinating vocational, recreational, and volunteer opportunities for participants in community-based settings. The position works closely with program staff, families, legal guardians, and care managers to develop appropriate programming and promote participant independence. The Group Leader also provides skills training, tracks program and behavioral data, and participates in interdisciplinary team meetings. The role reports to program leadership and helps ensure participants receive meaningful, safe, and individualized support.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate vocational, recreational, and volunteer opportunities for participants.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents/legal guardians, and care managers to establish appropriate programming.
  • Attend and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Transport participants safely to and from program, volunteer, and recreational sites.
  • Conduct community outreach to identify opportunities that support participant interests and activities.
  • Train participants in functional, vocational, recreational, and community-based skills.
  • Track and document program participation, skill development, and behavioral data.
  • Provide leadership and supervision while maintaining a safe, supportive, and professional environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • At least one year of previous supervisory experience required.
  • Must successfully complete SCIP training.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in human services preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to safely transport participants and support community-based activities.

Pay Range

USD $20.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
