Position Overview

Supervision includes, but is not limited to, ongoing individual supervisory meetings; building inspections, ongoing feedback regarding job performance; coordinating work schedules, timesheets and requests for time off; coordinating work assignments; evaluating paperwork and documentation including the Security Log and Maintenance Work Order Log books; coordinating security and maintenance staff training, development and evaluation. May be required to fulfill duties of residential aides and/or custodial personnel in their absence.

Responsible for maintaining fire safety which includes:Coordinate Fire Safety plan and training all staff on Fire Safety Procedures and Building Evacuation.Coordinate monthly fire drills and maintaining fire drill logs.

Key Responsibilities

Person Centered Planning 
  • Ensures that a person-centered focus is used to provide care and support by all staff who work within the program actively seeking out different approaches. 
  • Promotes the independence and self-determination of individuals, utilizing person-centered practices that focus on the individuals’ strengths and preferences while simultaneously addressing their needs. 
  • Promotes participation in activities of meaningful daily living, such as vocation, recreation, volunteerism, engagement. 
  • Provides opportunities for people support to personalize their environment, schedule and experiences in programming. 
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and personalized support to meet requirements, requests, and concerns. 
Regulatory 
  • Provide habilitation services to each client as prescribed in their service plans (CFA, Individual Service plan, Habilitation plan). 
  • Responsible for overall functioning of the facility during the absence of the Program Director. 
  • In the absence of the Program Director, supervises and instructs all Direct Support Professionals on shift.      
  • Responsible for people supported and agency funds and expenditures during shift (petty cash, recreation etc.). 
  • Ensure coverage of a shift when a Direct Support Professional is absent. 
  • Responsible for the physical condition of the program including agency vehicles; ensuring that they are maintained in safe and sanitary condition. 
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervisors’ workshops, interdisciplinary team (IDT) and committee meetings.  
  • Provides supervisory counseling and discipline to Direct Support Professionals as necessary  
  • Identifies facility needs and makes the relevant staff aware.  
Quality Improvement 
  • Carries out policies and procedures of SUS, in accordance with OPWDD and other funding sources.
  • Reports on all incidents, ensuring consistent adherence to OPWDD and agency policies  
  • Assesses and monitors staff productivity on an ongoing basis. 
  • Responds appropriately to community, family and agency contacts. 
  • Meets with Program Director on a regular basis to discuss pertinent shift and Direct Support  Professional issues and successes.  
  • Monitors Direct Support Professional’s time sheets on an as-needed basis. 

Requirements

  • Qualifications/Experience:
    • High School Diploma or approved equivalent.  
    • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Intellectual Disabilities/IDD or related field
    • Effective written and oral communication skills. 
    • SCIP-R, CPR & First Aid – Required
    • AMAP Certification – Required
    • Note: S:US will provide on-the-job training for these certifications: SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid and AMAP Certification

Pay Range

USD $23.00 - USD $23.00 /Hr.
