The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Applebee's to find qualified candidates for a Line Cook in Staten Island, New York. Applebee's is a U.S.-based casual dining restaurant chain known for its American-style menu and relaxed, neighborhood-themed atmosphere. The restaurant serves a variety of burgers, steaks, pasta, salads, chicken dishes, appetizers, and beverages, offering affordable, sit-down dining in a family-friendly setting.

The Line Cook prepares and cooks menu items according to established recipes and quality standards while ensuring food is served accurately and on time. This role is responsible for setting up and stocking workstations, preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and following food safety and sanitation procedures. The Line Cook works closely with the kitchen team in a fast-paced environment to support efficient operations, consistent food quality, and excellent guest satisfaction.

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

• Prepare and cook food items according to Applebee's recipes, standards, and quality guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following proper cooking procedures.
• Manage assigned cooking stations, including grill, sauté, fry, or prep areas.
• Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and served in a timely manner.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times.
• Maintain an organized workstation and properly store ingredients and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to coordinate orders and service.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, monitor inventory levels, and help maintain kitchen equipment and supplies.

• Must have at least 1 year of recent experience as a line cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Experience with food preparation and line cooking techniques.
• Experience using grill, sauté, fry, and other station cooking methods.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain food quality standards.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures.
• Proper knife handling and ingredient preparation skills.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently during high-volume service.
• Strong teamwork, communication, attention to detail, and consistency in food presentation.
