Position Overview

The Personal Care Aide (PCA) / Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care, nutritional support, assistance with personal hygiene, home management, and environmental maintenance to individuals in their homes. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, this role supports clients during periods of illness, disability, social disadvantage, or other challenges, helping them remain safely and comfortably in their homes. The PCA/HHA plays an important role in promoting each client's health, safety, comfort, dignity, and overall well-being through compassionate, dependable care.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Provide feeding assistance and support with meals.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe movement.
  • Monitor and record vital signs as directed.
  • Provide medication reminders.
  • Observe changes in client health and report concerns to nurses and family members.
  • Assist with home management and environmental maintenance.
  • Practice fall prevention, safe lifting, and infection control procedures.

Requirements

  • PCA or HHA certification required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work with little supervision.
  • Strong observational, judgment, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to communicate compassionately with clients, nurses, and family members.
  • Demonstrated reliability, patience, and empathy.
  • Knowledge of personal care, mobility assistance, and nutritional support.
  • Must have open availability; schedule can vary depending on assigned case.

Pay Range

USD $19.65 - USD $19.65 /Hr.
