The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with White Glove Placement to find qualified candidates for a Paraprofessional position in Staten Island, NY. Position Overview

The Paraprofessional provides support to students in the classroom and assists teachers with daily instructional activities. This role helps create a positive learning environment by supporting student learning, reinforcing classroom expectations, and assisting with classroom operations. The Paraprofessional serves as a positive role model while helping students with classwork, homework, and educational activities.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities.
  • Support students individually or in small groups with learning tasks.
  • Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, and other school areas.
  • Help manage student behavior and reinforce classroom rules.
  • Prepare and organize instructional materials.
  • Provide additional support to students with special needs as directed.
  • Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher.
  • Assist with grading or recording assignments when needed.
  • Ensure a safe, positive, and structured learning environment.
  • Support overall classroom operations and teacher requests.

Requirements

  • Must have experience working with children or in a school setting preferred.
  • Must have experience in roles involving children, education, or customer-facing responsibilities required. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, reliability, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to manage and support student behavior.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to work well with teachers and school staff.
  • Must pass required background checks and screenings.
  • Ability to work in a structured classroom environment.

Pay Range

USD $20.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
