Position Overview

The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all receiving and backroom operations to ensure merchandise is received, processed, and prepared for the sales floor efficiently and accurately. This role includes supervising and training receiving associates, coordinating shipment deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, monitoring safety and loss prevention procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Receiving Supervisor works closely with store management to support operational goals, manage workflow, resolve receiving discrepancies, and maintain an organized stockroom. Strong leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to lift merchandise and work in a fast-paced retail environment.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receiving process for incoming merchandise.
  • Ensure shipments are unloaded, processed, and moved efficiently to the sales floor.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain an organized and safe stockroom and receiving area.
  • Supervise, train, and provide direction to receiving associates.
  • Delegate tasks and help set daily priorities.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure proper handling of merchandise.
  • Collaborate with store management and communicate operational updates.

Requirements

  • Previous receiving supervisory or team lead experience required. 
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience unloading trucks, processing freight, and managing stockrooms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and store systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and handle merchandise in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range

USD $18.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
