Position Overview

The Employment Specialist for the YouthBuild Training & Employment Program will support young adults in preparing for and securing meaningful employment opportunities. This role focuses on career counseling, job readiness training, employer engagement, and participant retention support to help individuals successfully navigate the workforce

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions to assess participant skills, interests, and career goals
Develop individualized career plans tailored to participants’ strengths and aspirations
Assist with resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategies
Connect participants with employment opportunities and coordinate interviews with employers
Provide ongoing application and interview support, including mock interviews and coaching
Facilitate workshops focused on job readiness, workplace communication, time management, and professional etiquette
Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and educational institutions to expand employment opportunities
Attend job fairs, networking events, and community outreach activities to promote the program
Track participant progress, employment outcomes, and program performance metrics
Conduct follow-up and retention support with participants and employers after placement to ensure long-term success
Identify additional support needs, including workplace coaching, conflict resolution, and on-the-job training assistance

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation or a related field
Minimum of three years of experience in workforce development or vocational rehabilitation
Strong knowledge of employment trends, recruitment strategies, and workforce development practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Spanish fluency preferred
Experience working with young adults in career counseling or workforce development preferred

Pay Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $60,000.00 /Hr.
