The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Oakwood Dental Arts to find qualified candidates for a Front Desk in Staten Island, NY. The practice focuses on using modern technology and offering comprehensive, in-house care so patients can get most treatments in one place. It emphasizes personalized treatment plans, patient comfort, and preventive care, with teams of dentists and specialists working together to support overall oral health.

Position Overview

The front desk coordinator is responsible for greeting, registering, assisting, and informing patients of dental office procedures and policy. They will coordinate and schedule patient appointments to ensure timely and efficient treatment completion. They will help coordinate the dentist's schedule and bill patients and their insurance companies. They maintain accurate records of patient treatment plans, financial agreements, and communications.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their treatment plans.
  • Present and explain proposed treatment options, including benefits, risks, and costs.
  • Work with patients to understand their financial responsibilities and discuss payment options, insurance coverage, and financing solutions.
  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments to ensure timely and efficient treatment completion.
  • Follow up with patients regarding pending treatment, ensuring high case acceptance rates.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatment plans, financial agreements, and communications.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure smooth patient handoffs and clear communication.
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
  • Address patient concerns and questions, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Stay up to date with dental procedures, insurance policies, and financing options to better educate patients.

 

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present treatment plans in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
  • Comfortable discussing financial matters and handling payment arrangements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting preferred.

Pay Range

USD $24.00 - USD $24.00 /Hr.
