Position Overview

A Financial Professional at New York Life Insurance Company works as a client-facing advisor who helps individuals plan for financial goals like retirement, protection, and wealth building, while primarily selling life insurance and related financial products. The role involves meeting with clients, assessing their needs, recommending solutions such as insurance policies and investments, and building a personal client base through networking and outreach. The company provides training and helps you obtain necessary licenses, but the job is best suited for self-motivated, entrepreneurial individuals comfortable with sales rather than those seeking a purely analytical finance role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new client relationships through networking, referrals, and outreach
  • Meet with clients to assess financial goals, needs, and risk tolerance
  • Recommend and sell appropriate financial solutions (e.g., life insurance, annuities, investments)
  • Guide clients through the full financial planning and sales process
  • Maintain ongoing relationships and provide continuous service and support
  • Build and manage a personal book of business
  • Stay up to date on financial products, industry trends, and compliance requirements
  • Complete required training and obtain/maintain professional licenses
  • Track performance metrics and meet sales goals and targets
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and mentorship programs

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree optional)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven sales experience or demonstrated ability to sell
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and self-motivation
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Willingness to prospect and develop a personal client base
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet performance goals
  • Basic financial knowledge or willingness to learn financial products and planning concepts

Pay Range

USD $22.05 - USD $22.05 /Hr.
