Position Overview

The Food Service Associate plays a key role in preparing and serving meals in school and institutional settings. This position supports kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, service, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. Working closely with kitchen staff and supervisors, the associate helps ensure efficient meal service while creating a positive dining experience for children and staff. This role is ideal for individuals who are dependable, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced food service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in heating and preparing pre-made meals according to established procedures.

  • Set up and maintain sandwich and salad bars for daily service.

  • Serve meals to students and staff in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.

  • Perform basic food preparation tasks, including cutting and handling ingredients.

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and service areas are cleaned and sanitized daily.

  • Follow Department of Health (DOH) guidelines, including FIFO (First In, First Out) food handling practices.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Support team members to ensure smooth and timely meal service operations.

Pay Range

USD $17.00 - USD $17.00 /Hr.
