Position Overview

Position Title: Vocational Evaluation Supervisor 
Classification: Full-time 
Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000
 
Position Summary: The Vocational Evaluation Supervisor manages and supervises the Vocational Evaluation team, oversees the Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans (IVAP) process, and assesses the work skills, abilities, work readiness, and vocational potential through administration of aptitude and educational achievement of the clients at the program site.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: 
  • Researches, develops, and implements new assessments, measures, and report formats to meet the needs of the agency and varying disability populations. 
  • Mentors, coaches, and assists in the training of other staff members as necessary. 
  • Supervise the measurement and recording of client responses to motivational techniques and criticism, as well as organizational ability, perseverance, attendance, punctuality, flexibility, interpersonal skills, work habits and communication skills. 
  • Oversee the development of Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans (IVAP), including education and vocational training referrals, Community Services referrals, and appropriate job search activities, based on the results of the IVAP assessments and other medical, mental health, substance abuse and psychosocial assessments. 
  • Review and sign off on Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans while making recommendations for adjustments 
  • Identify vocational evaluation staff training needs and ensures training is obtained. 
  • Provides oversight to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the NYC Human Resources Administration. 
  • Ensures that all required statistical data and reports are prepared accurately and submitted in a timely manner. 
  • Implements internal controls to confirm that work and production are consistent with regular policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Case conference with other WeCARE departments and staff members on an as needed basis, including Case Managers, Work Readiness Facilitators, Job Prep and Placement Coordinators, and Community Service Specialists
  • Hires, supervises, evaluates, develops, and terminates assigned staff to ensure staff is productive and motivated.

Education and Experience: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, vocational education, psychology, or education or the equivalent in a related field. 
  • Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credentials from the Commission on Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. 
  • Bi-lingual (English Spanish) candidates preferred
 
Knowledge, Skllls and Abilitles: 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of 
    • the mission, vision and goals of Fedcap Rehabilitation Services and The Fedcap Group and execution of relevant policies and procedures. 
    • Knowledge of vocational assessment systems and valid testing procedures required as well as knowledge of the labor market and world of work. 
    • Microsoft word and Excel. 
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written). 
    • Strong leadership and management skills. 
  • Demonstrable ability to 
    • follow agency and department policies and procedures. 
    • to be highly organized and detail oriented. 
    • be patient and sensitive to individuals with disabilities 

Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
