Position Overview

The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. This role ensures that all menu items are prepared according to company recipes and standards while maintaining food quality, presentation, safety, and cleanliness. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to company recipes, specifications, and quality standards
  • Ensure proper food quality, portion control, and presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, ovens, and prep tools
  • Execute orders efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines
  • Assist with food preparation, station setup, and stocking of ingredients and supplies
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members
  • Support opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and restocking
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or equipment issues to management

Requirements

  • Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30–50 pounds
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Pay Range

USD $17.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.
