Position Overview

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This position reports to program supervisors and works closely with a team of care professionals to ensure participants receive high-quality, person-centered support. The DSP is responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a safe, respectful, and engaging environment. This role is essential in helping participants achieve their personal goals and maintain dignity in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to participants in daily living, recreational, and vocational activities.

  • Assist individuals in developing skills that promote independence and community integration.

  • Follow individualized Community Habilitation Plans to meet participant-specific goals.

  • Assess and respond to participants’ needs, interests, strengths, and limitations.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to participant care and progress.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and participants.

  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and safety standards.

  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes dignity and growth.

Pay Range

USD $17.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
