Position Overview

The Personal Care Aide (PCA) / Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care, nutritional support, assistance with personal hygiene, home management, and environmental maintenance to individuals in their homes. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, this role helps clients remain safely at home during periods of illness, disability, social disadvantage, or other challenges. The PCA/HHA plays an important role in supporting clients' health, safety, comfort, and overall well-being.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Provide feeding assistance and support with meals
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe movement
  • Monitor and record vital signs as directed
  • Provide medication reminders
  • Observe changes in client health and communicate concerns
  • Report observations to nurses and family members
  • Practice fall prevention, safe lifting, and infection control procedures

Requirements

  • Must be PCA or HHA certified, or scheduled to attend training to become certified
  • Must be self-directed and able to work with little supervision
  • Strong observational skills required
  • Sound judgment skills required
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Work authorization required
  • Ability to communicate with clients, nurses, and family members in a compassionate manner
  • Demonstrated reliability, patience, and empathy

Pay Range

USD $19.65 - USD $19.65 /Hr.
