The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Bestcare to find qualified candidates for a Home Health Aide (HHA) in Staten Island, NY. Licensed by the New York State Department of Health, Bestcare operates approved Home Health Aide and Personal Care Aide training programs and has been accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) since 1993. Position Overview

Home Health Aides provide essential in-home support to seniors and individuals with disabilities, helping them remain safely and comfortably in their homes. This role involves assisting clients with personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, and companionship while monitoring their well-being. Home Health Aides play an important role in supporting clients' independence and communicating changes in health or care needs.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized in-home assistance, including personal care services
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to support a safe home environment
  • Assist with meal preparation and provide companionship
  • Monitor clients' health, behavior, and overall well-being
  • Report changes in client condition or needs as appropriate
  • Assist with medication management according to the Plan of Care and instructions
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality care

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Home Health Aide (HHA) certification
  • Candidates must be self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong observational skills required
  • Strong decision-making skills required
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Authorization to work is required
  • Applicants who are not yet certified must successfully complete a four-week training program with no absences to obtain HHA certification before employment

Pay Range

USD $19.15 - USD $19.15 /Hr.
